Xigera Safari Lodge is located on the western side of the game-rich Moremi Game Reserve, in one of the Okavango Delta’s key waterways. The lodge is surrounded by picturesque papyrus swamps and wooded islands and is renowned for its remarkable mammal sightings. The lodge is set to pioneer a new era for the African bush, authentic and utterly in tune with its surroundings. Using a light footprint model, the camp has just 12 individually designed air-conditioned suites, including one two-bedroom family suite situated on two islands, bridged together with an extraordinary bronze lily centerpiece. The design of the lodge is game-changing, with surprising touches redefining what it is to experience the African bush –from human-sized woven nests resting on decks for guests to nestle in, to a life-changing sleep-out under the stars in a three-story steel baobab tree. Morning and evening game drives are at your leisure. Walking safaris and fishing (in season) can similarly be tailored around the guest’s schedule. Other activities include exploring the Delta’s waterways by traditional canoe, glass-bottom mokoro and motorboat – and an unforgettable ‘feet-in-the-water’ sundowner to finish the day.
