Ecuador - the Andes to the Galápagos
Nineteen days reveal the remarkable variety of Ecuador, from the Andean highlands to the wildlife-rich Galápagos and the lush cloud forests. Begin in Quito, where historic streets, local flavours and traditional crafts offer an introduction to the country’s culture. From here, head into the Galápagos for seven nights aboard a small expedition yacht, moving between islands and experiencing their distinctive landscapes and wildlife, with plenty of time on and in the water. On Isabela, explore further by land before travelling back to the mainland and into the cloud forests around Mindo. Here, days of guided walks and time in the forest bring the journey to a quieter close.

DAYS 1-3
Quito
Settle into Quito's UNESCO-listed Old Town, exploring its flavours and history from the city's oldest market to a hands-on chocolate workshop and traditional candy makers, finishing with a rooftop cocktail class. Fly to San Cristóbal and board a small expedition yacht for seven nights exploring the Galápagos' wildlife and marine life.
DAYS 4-9
Santa Cruz
Explore the Galápagos by yacht, from Genovesa's nesting boobies and frigatebirds to Santa Cruz's flamingos, sea lions and land iguanas. Discover Isabela's lava caves, Fernandina's marine iguanas and Tagus Cove before exploring Rábida and Santiago. On Santa Cruz, see giant tortoises and visit the Charles Darwin Research Station.
DAYS 10-14
Isabela Island
Disembark the yacht and fly to Isabela Island, settling into a glamping-style lodge in the highlands. Snorkel among sharks, rays and reef fish, explore lava tunnels, wetlands and the Wall of Tears, then trek across the rim of Sierra Negra Volcano before flying back to Quito.
DAYS 15-18
Mindo Cloud Forest
Drive north into the cloud forests near Mindo, staying at a private nature reserve surrounded by Ecuador's rich biodiversity. Explore the trails and canopy with expert guides, from birdwatching walks in search of toucans and hummingbirds to night walks revealing nocturnal wildlife, with time to discover waterfalls and orchids.
DAY 19
Quito
Transfer to the airport for your flight home, closing out a journey from Andean markets and the Galápagos' wildlife to Ecuador's cloud forest.
