Panama brings together three very different settings over 12 days, from the historic streets and waterways of the capital to the cloud forests of the highlands and the Caribbean islands of Bocas del Toro. In Panama City, discover the history of the canal and explore Casco Viejo before heading into Soberanía National Park at dawn, when toucans and other rainforest species are active along Pipeline Road. Boquete brings cooler mountain air, cloud forest walks and the chance to search for quetzal, alongside coffee roasting and a farm-to-table dinner. DAYS 1-3
Panama City & Soberania
Settle into Panama City's historic Casco Viejo before exploring the Panama Canal, Amador Causeway and colonial streets with a guide. Rise early for a birdwatching excursion along Pipeline Road in Soberanía National Park, spotting toucans, oropendolas and rainforest species as the jungle wakes at dawn.
DAYS 4-6
Boquete and Chiriqui
Fly to David and continue into the highlands to Boquete, surrounded by mountain scenery and birdlife. Explore the cloud forest in search of the elusive quetzal, then enjoy a farm-to-table dinner followed by coffee roasting and tasting. Spend a final day at leisure in the mountain town.
DAYS 7-10
Bocas del Toro & Caribbean
Continue to Bocas del Toro by private boat, settling into a beachfront house for four nights. Explore the archipelago by water, spotting dolphins, snorkelling among coral reefs and cruising through mangrove tunnels to Red Frog Beach and Bahía Honda, with a day at leisure to enjoy the beaches and jungle trails.
DAYS 11-12
Panama City & Soberania
Fly back to Panama City and return to Casco Viejo for a final night before your journey home, closing out a trip encompassing Panama's canal history, cloud forests, coffee farms and Caribbean islands.
