Protecting the world around us

TRUE TRAVEL FOUNDATION

The True Travel foundation footprint

Our Foundation

At True Travel, we believe travel and tourism should positively affect the people whose destinations we visit. Our Foundation, established in 2016, channels this ethos into grassroots organisations across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the United Kingdom.

Sustainability can mean many things, and in luxury travel it’s often spoken about more than it’s truly lived. At True, we see it as an opportunity, a chance to create extraordinary journeys that also make a genuine difference. Working alongside trusted ground partners, each selected for their dedication to community, fair employment, and responsible practices, we ensure every trip contributes to a healthier planet and a brighter future; whether that be through humanitarian projects or conservation initiatives. As a certified B-Corp, we’re proud that our practices meet the highest standards of responsibility and transparency, helping us set a thoughtful example in positive-impact travel. With a commitment to continuous improvement, our B-Corp certification ensures every action we take remains true to the promises we make.

Seawilding

Our partners at Seawilding are the UK’s first community-based native oyster and seagrass restoration project. Based in Loch Craignish on Scotland’s west coast, their aim is to restore biodiversity and capture carbon through pioneering, low-cost marine habitat restoration, while inspiring local communities to do the same. Since launching in 2020, Seawilding has restored more than 350,000 native oysters and planted 500,000 seagrass seeds in the loch, helping to bring new life back to Scotland’s seabed.

The Sol y Luna Foundation

Established in 1998, the Sol y Luna Foundation provides care and education to 163 children from some of Peru’s poorest communities. Its work encompasses a school, Paqari, a special needs programme, and a home for orphaned and at-risk children. Through Roots & Wings, the Foundation also supports young people beyond school, providing access to higher education and vocational training. Together, these programmes give children and young people the support, education and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.

Time Tide, Zambia

Time + Tide's Female Empowerment Programme

In rural Zambia and Madagascar, low school attendance during adolescence increases the risk of child marriage, early motherhood and domestic violence. Time + Tide’s Female Empowerment Programme addresses this through academic support, extra-curricular opportunities and empowering education. Its goal is for 90% of girls to transition confidently into secondary school, with Girls’ Clubs nurturing self-worth, building confidence and helping girls discover their passions.

The Rucksack Project, India

The Rucksack Project

In collaboration with Taabar Shelter, an NGO that works specifically with boys who either found themselves living on the streets or were forced into child labour, The Rucksack Project aims to give the boys something of their own. Each rucksack is filled with everyday essentials such as toiletries and school supplies, things they can call their own, to take with them when they return home.

The Newman Holiday Trust
