Vinales & Las Terrazas
Vinales National Park, in Pinar del Rio province, is best known for its mogotes, steep limestone hills that rise abruptly from the valley floor across some 132 square kilometres of protected land. The valley is also Cuba’s premier tobacco-growing region, and a visit to a family-run vega to see cigars rolled by hand is a genuine highlight, not a tourist add-on. Nearby Las Terrazas, a reforested former coffee estate, makes a green, quiet contrast before or after the more famous valley.
