Coffee Triangle
Colombia’s Coffee Triangle, centred on the towns of Salento, Manizales and Pereira, produces some of the country’s best-regarded coffee, grown on steep hillsides at altitudes that give the beans their reputation. The Cocora Valley, nearby, holds the world’s tallest palm trees, some reaching 60 metres, rising out of cloud forest in a landscape unlike anywhere else in Colombia. Working farm visits here go well beyond a simple tasting, and the region’s cooler climate makes a welcome change from the Caribbean coast.
