Guatemala: Maya Heritage & Lake Atitlán 15 days
15 days
Guatemala - Maya Ruins, Volcanoes, Remote Wilderness
Guatemala brings together colonial towns, volcanic landscapes and some of Central America’s most remarkable Maya sites, with plenty of time to get into the country’s more remote corners. In Antigua, explore historic streets and churches before trekking across Pacaya’s volcanic terrain and visiting a sustainable coffee farm. Further north, reach Yaxhá, Tikal, Holmul and Uaxactún by helicopter and rarely travelled jungle routes, then continue through the Candelaria Caves, Semuc Champey and Lanquín. In the Cuchumatanes, hike through pine forests and villages before reaching Lake Atitlán, where Maya spirituality, traditional weaving and lively markets bring the 15 day journey to a close.
