Highlands
The Scottish Highlands cover a vast stretch of the country’s north and west, and the scale of the landscape is what stays with people long after they leave, from the sea lochs of the west coast to the high, empty ground around the Cairngorms. It is genuinely wild in places, with red deer, golden eagles and whisky distilleries tucked into glens that see very few visitors. Nature lovers and hikers tend to need more than one trip.
