Kerry
Kerry has as strong a claim as anywhere to Ireland’s most iconic scenery, with Atlantic cliffs and beaches that suit a blustery autumn walk as well as a braver summer swim. Killarney itself is a colourful base, its pubs full of live Irish music and its shops selling proper Irish fare, and it sits right against Killarney National Park, home to Ireland’s only wild native red deer herd. It is the obvious starting point for exploring the Ring of Kerry beyond.
