Spend 10 days following the trail of Tanzania’s great northern safari circuit, from the baobab-dotted plains of Tarangire to the wildlife-rich floor of the Ngorongoro Crater and the endless grasslands of the Serengeti. Start with a sunrise balloon flight over Tarangire before heading into the Ngorongoro Highlands, with the chance to visit a traditional Maasai boma. In the Serengeti, the scenery changes as you travel north, from open plains and abundant cheetah to forests, rivers and rugged hills. The northern Serengeti brings exceptional year-round wildlife, with the chance to witness the Great Migration and Mara River crossings between July and November.

Journey Route
DAYS 1-3
Tarangire National Park
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Arusha to relax before your safari adventure. Continue to Tarangire National Park, known for towering baobabs, grasslands, forests and rivers. Enjoy an iconic sunrise hot air balloon flight followed by a Champagne breakfast, before spending the afternoon exploring the park on safari.
DAYS 4-5
Ngorongoro Crater
Travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. Explore the Ngorongoro Highlands or visit a traditional Maasai boma before an early start for a full day safari on the crater floor, looking out for lion, rhino, elephant, zebra and flamingos.
DAYS 6-7
Serengeti
Enter the Serengeti through the southern Nabi gate, enjoying a safari across the huge open grassy plains, where cheetah are an especially common sight. Continue north, where the landscape transforms into forested areas, river systems and rugged hills, before reaching your camp in the northern Serengeti.
DAYS 8-10
Northern Serengeti
Explore the northern Serengeti, renowned for excellent year-round wildlife viewing, especially elephant and lion. If timed between July and November, there is an excellent chance to see the Great Migration, including crossings of the Mara River. Enjoy a final morning at camp before flying to Kilimanjaro Airport.
