Wild Chile: Volcanoes, Islands & Patagonia
Chile’s landscapes shift dramatically as you travel south, from the volcanic peaks and lakes of the Lake District to the forests and coastline of Chiloé, before reaching the wild scenery of Patagonia. Start this 13 day experience in Santiago, then head to Puerto Varas, where days can be spent hiking, kayaking, cycling or exploring the region’s food and culture beneath Osorno Volcano. On Chiloé, discover wooden churches, fishing villages and forested shores by boat, kayak and on horseback. Further south, Torres del Paine brings granite peaks, glacial lakes and the chance to track puma. Return north to finish among the vineyards of Casablanca Valley.

Journey Route
DAYS 1-5
Santiago
Arrive in Santiago and explore the city on a half-day tour before flying south to Puerto Varas in the Chilean Lake District. Choose from guided hikes, cycling, kayaking, horseback riding and fly fishing, alongside cultural excursions, basket weaving and a farm-to-table cooking class, with Osorno Volcano as a constant backdrop.
DAYS 5-8
Chiloe
Continue south to Puerto Montt and cross by ferry to Chiloé, a fog-wrapped world of wooden churches, stilted fishing villages and forested coastline. Explore the archipelago by traditional wooden boat, kayak through a forest drowned by an earthquake, ride horseback along coastal paths and visit a UNESCO-listed wooden church.
DAYS 8-12
Chilean Patagonia
Fly to Puerto Natales and continue into Torres del Paine National Park, spending four nights among granite peaks and glacial lakes. Choose from guided hikes to the granite towers and Grey Glacier, horseback riding on a private reserve and kayaking among icebergs, or arrange a private puma tracking excursion with an expert guide.
DAYS 12-13
Santiago
Return to Santiago for a final night before heading to the Casablanca Valley, one of Chile's premier cool-climate wine regions. Visit a boutique winery to learn about the influence of the nearby coast on the grapes, followed by a three-course lunch paired with the region's wines, before transferring to the airport.
