Queenstown & Glenorchy
Queenstown built its reputation on adventure, from the original bungee site at the Kawarau Bridge to jet boating on the Shotover River, all set against the Remarkables mountain range reflected in Lake Wakatipu. Glenorchy, half an hour up the lake, trades the adrenaline for scenery, its surrounding valleys used as filming locations for Lord of the Rings and offering some of the South Island’s best short walks. Together they cover both extremes of what draws travellers to Queenstown in the first place.
