Hanoi
Hanoi rewards getting lost in it. Vietnam’s capital is built around a genuine labyrinth of streets in the Old Quarter, where French colonial buildings sit alongside street markets and pocket-sized temples, often within the same block. The pace is relentless in places and completely still in others, sometimes just a corner apart. Spend a morning walking without a fixed plan and the city makes far more sense than any guidebook route ever quite manages to.
