Yala National Park
Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s most visited wildlife sanctuary, and its Block One area holds one of the highest densities of leopard found anywhere in the world. Elephant, sloth bear, crocodile and well over a hundred bird species share the same dry-zone scrub and lagoons, making a single game drive genuinely varied. Early morning drives, or entering through one of the park’s quieter access points, tend to bring the best and most rewarding sightings.
