Langkawi
Langkawi, often called the Jewel of Kedah, is an archipelago of more than ninety islands off Malaysia’s northwest coast. Cruising between them by boat reveals hidden caves and quiet mangrove lagoons that are hard to reach any other way, while the main island’s night markets are where the local cooking really shows itself, from grilled satay to fresh seafood. It works equally well as a relaxed beach base or as a starting point for exploring the wider archipelago.
