Delhi
Delhi is India’s capital and a city of genuine contrasts, nowhere more so than in Old Delhi, where narrow lanes lead past the Red Fort and the Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. Street food stalls line the alleys nearby, and the noise and colour of the old city are as good an introduction to India as any. New Delhi’s broader avenues and museums offer a calmer counterpoint, but it is the old city that most visitors remember first.
