Bandhavgarh
Bandhavgarh National Park in central India has one of the highest densities of tigers of any reserve in the country, a legacy of the terrain: dense sal forest broken by grassland and ancient sandstone cliffs, ideal tiger habitat that concentrates sightings within a relatively compact area. A ruined fort, thought to be more than 2,000 years old, sits atop the park’s central plateau, adding a further layer of interest to game drives. For travellers prioritising tiger sightings, Bandhavgarh is hard to beat.
