Matopos National Park
The Matopos Hills are a landscape of weathered granite kopjes and wooded valleys close to the city of Bulawayo in southern Zimbabwe. The area supports a striking diversity of flora and fauna, including a notable population of black and white rhino, and carries a weight of history too, from ancient San rock art to the grave of Cecil Rhodes on one of its summits. Few landscapes in the region combine natural beauty with quite so much to think about.
