Livingstone and Victoria Falls
On the northern bank of the Zambezi River, Livingstone takes its name from the Scottish missionary and explorer David Livingstone, and serves as Zambia’s gateway to Victoria Falls, with daily flights from Johannesburg and easy road access from Botswana over the Kazangula Bridge. The town itself is unassuming, though the David Livingstone Museum is worth an hour, and most accommodation is strung along the river between the Falls and the border post. It is a base for the Falls rather than a destination in its own right.
