Liuwa Plain National Park
Few safari-goers know Liuwa Plain National Park, yet it was one of the first protected areas in Africa, its significance recognised as far back as 1880 by King Lewanika of the Lozi people, after whom the park’s premium lodge is now named. The plains host Zambia’s own wildebeest migration each year, alongside a healthy population of wild dog. Few parks in Africa combine this level of history with such genuine remoteness.
