Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park in western Uganda is best known for its chimpanzees, tracked through forest that forms the last significant stretch of pre-montane rainforest remaining in East Africa. The landscape shifts constantly across the park, from swamp and grassland to dense high canopy, and that mix of habitats supports one of Uganda’s richest primate populations. A morning spent following a chimp troop through the undergrowth, listening to their calls carry through the trees, is a very different rhythm from a typical game drive.
