Katavi National Park
Katavi National Park lies in the remote west of Tanzania and earns its hidden gem reputation honestly, receiving around 1,000 visitors a year, fewer than the Ngorongoro Crater sees in a single day. Most itineraries combine it with the Mahale Mountains, and sometimes Ruaha further south, forming the backbone of Tanzania’s western safari circuit. What you lose in creature comforts here you gain in solitude, with game drives that can go an entire morning without meeting another vehicle.
