Fregate Island
Fregate Island is privately owned and given over almost entirely to conservation, home to more Aldabra giant tortoises than anywhere outside Aldabra itself and one of the last strongholds of the critically endangered Seychelles magpie robin. Just seven villas share the island, each close to its own beach, and the setting has been ranked among the best in the world for exactly that reason. It suits travellers wanting a single, immersive stay rather than island-hopping around the wider Seychelles.
