Skeleton Coast
The Skeleton Coast runs along the north-west of Namibia, a wild stretch of shifting dunes and rugged shoreline where fog rolls in off the cold Atlantic most mornings, creating some of the most atmospheric light anywhere in the country. Its evocative name comes from the old shipwrecks that still rest along the sand, a reminder of a coastline early sailors treated with real respect. Seal colonies gather at Cape Cross in their thousands, and small, remote camps here offer some of Namibia’s most exclusive and least-visited safari experiences.
