NamibRand Reserve
NamibRand Nature Reserve is one of the largest private reserves in southern Africa, a buffer of more than 200,000 hectares between the Namib Desert and the Nubib Mountains. It was designated the world’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, and stargazing here, far from any artificial light, is genuinely exceptional. Oryx and springbok move freely across its open plains, and the handful of lodges inside the reserve keep visitor numbers low, so the sense of space rarely feels shared.
