Damaraland
Damaraland and the north hold some of Namibia’s most dramatic scenery, a landscape that shifts from the granite domes of Spitzkoppe and Erongo through the Brandberg massif and on to the stark red mountains further north. The beauty here is raw rather than pretty, all exposed rock and huge skies. It is also prime desert-adapted elephant country, and tracking them across these dry riverbeds is one of the more memorable ways to spend a morning in Namibia.
