Maasai Mara National Reserve
Meru National Park straddles the equator in northern Kenya, roughly 370 kilometres northeast of Nairobi, and covers some 870 square kilometres of riverine forest and open savannah. It was here that Joy and George Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, and the park still carries that sense of wild remove today. Meru sees a fraction of the visitors of Kenya’s better-known reserves, which only adds to its appeal for travellers who have been on safari before.
