Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park sits in what was once Loitoktok District, in Kenya’s Rift Valley Province, covering around 392 square kilometres of open plains and swamp beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. The park’s herds of elephant are some of the best studied in Africa, and on a clear morning you can watch them cross the plains with Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit filling the frame behind them. It is a smaller park than many, which makes the game viewing feel concentrated rather than diluted.
