Wilderness Kalahari Plains Camp is set in a remote part of the diverse and productive Central Kalahari Game Reserve and offers some of the best summer wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. Located in the Kalahari Desert biome in the central part of Botswana, this reserve is the largest conservation area in the country and one of the largest in the world. Its star attractions include the legendary Kalahari black-maned lion as well as some of the world’s best cheetah viewing. Kalahari Plains Camp, overlooking an immense grassy and fertile pan with endless horizons and beautiful skies, is raised off the ground to catch the breeze and take in sweeping views across the Kalahari by day and star-filled skies by night. Solar power provides electricity and hot water, and innovative insulated canvas walls and roof keep the temperatures insideecomfortable. The lounge and dining area, also raised, are perfect for watching wildlife in front of camp.This camp consists of ten luxury canvas tented rooms. It can accommodate up to 20 guests and 4 children. The canvas tented rooms are raised off the ground with walkways on sand. Being located in the desert, the canvas and roofs have been specially insulated to keep out most of the heat during the day and the cold during the night. During the winter extra blankets and hot water bottles are provided. There is a roof top veranda for sleep outs (weather permitting) for you to enjoy the night skies.
