HMS Gåssten
Once built to sweep mines from the Baltic, HMS Gåssten now cruises Norway’s Lofoten archipelago as a private charter, her original oak beams and brass fittings restored around four cosy cabins for up to nine guests. From the saloon’s 270-degree windows, look out for orcas and whales as the ship threads between fjords too narrow for larger vessels. Days ashore bring kayaking, fishing and wild swimming, with dinner served from what the chef has caught or foraged that morning.
