DAYS 1-3
Umhlanga
Arrive in Durban and head to the quiet seaside suburb of Umhlanga for some rest and relaxation. Continue to the gently rolling hills of the Natal Midlands, the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains. Explore the countryside, with hiking and biking trails, fishing, golf, horseriding and excellent cuisine.
DAYS 4-5
Drakensberg Mountains
Head into the Drakensberg Mountains, where jagged peaks rise from green valleys and rivers and waterfalls cascade down the mountainsides. Enjoy a gentle afternoon stroll before tackling one of the spectacular walking trails, crossing crystal-clear streams, grassy pastures and the jagged mountains.
DAYS 6-8
Buffalo River
Continue to the Battlefields region, where the iconic battles of the Anglo-Zulu War were fought. Visit the Buffalo River and the field of the Battle of Isandlwana, learning about the events of the battle and how it shaped the future of the Zulu Nation. Then visit Rorke's Drift, where key features have been restored.
DAYS 9-12
KwaZulu-Natal
Travel to one of KwaZulu-Natal's outstanding private game reserves for an afternoon safari and superb wildlife viewing. See the region's white rhinos, as well as cheetah, leopard and lion, with your guide on hand. Enjoy a final morning safari before heading back to the airport for your journey home.
